Experience
A graduate of Yale University and Stanford Business School, RG Hess specialized in Strategic, Financial and Market Planning & Analysis and Information Technology for twenty years. He worked for many major corporations including Dole, Fibreboard, Heath-Techna and Weyerhaeuser.

In 1985, Hess decided to focus on promoting the management of change, a unique approach to management that he had developed in his corporate business experiences. He formed his own company, SR Management Associates, Inc. and consulted for companies in the fabrication, food products, home products, and construction industries.

In 1987, Hess first became associated with The Hogue Cellars, a winery in Washington State which at the time had less than $2 million in revenue. The change management process for Hogue included strategic planning, design of business systems, and oversight of the marketing company. Hogue grew rapidly and Hess spent more and more of his time with Hogue. In 1997, he gave up other outside associates and became full-time CEO and Co-Chairman of the Hogue Board of Directors and of Vintage New World, Hogue’s marketing company. Hess directed operations at both Vintage New World and Hogue until their sale to Vincor in the fall of 2001. At the time revenue for Hogue and Vintage New World had grown to over $32 million.

In addition to operating SR Management, Hess has been a partner in Pepper Bridge Winery, Amavi Cellars and Beverage C3I. He lives with his family in Renton, Washington near Seattle.
